Junya Watanabe MAN and Karrimor Reunite for Another Backpack-Infused Jacket

Those who have followed along the design journey of Junya Watanabe will know that he has a penchant for taking workwear silhouettes and tweaking them with utility features of unconventional cuts to make them his own. Last year, the designer tapped into his love for jackets with backpack attachments and decided to craft his own alongside Karrimor, and the two imprints have reconvened to release another.

Together, Junya Watanabe MAN and the UK outdoor gear manufacturer have engineered the bomber piece with a nylon fabric that's derived from dense ramie. The made-in-Japan piece is cut with a wider fit and features checkered patterns on the exterior and button-up closures. When flipped in reverse, the outerwear product contrasts with stark black front pockets and an oversized backpack pocket with adjustable straps. The standard blue Junya Watanabe MAN tag is planted by the back neck while the Karrimor logo sits in the middle of the back.

Interested in purchasing? You can find the jacket available now via select retailers like HAVEN for $1,595 USD.

In other news, Atlanta recently saw the opening of its newest high-fashion retailer ANT/DOTE.
