iOS 16.3.1 and iPadOS 16.3.1 for iPhone and iPad is now available for download with loads of bug fixes.
Apple Releases iOS 16.3.1 and iPadOS 16.3.1 with Plenty of Bug Fixes - Includes Fixes for iCloud and Crash Detection and More
The update is available over the air right now and you can download it by going to Settings > General > Software Update on your device. Tap on Download and Install when the update shows up. You may be required to plug your iPhone and iPad in to a power outlet as well.
If you’re wondering what’s the official changelog for this update is, here it is below:
This update provides important bug fixes and security updates for your iPhone including:
- iCloud settings may be unresponsive or incorrectly display if apps are using iCloud
- Siri requests for Find My may not work
- Crash Detection optimizations on iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models
It is highly recommended that you go ahead and download the update right now. You do have the option to download and install the update from scratch - just take a backup of everything using Finder, iTunes or iCloud and hit the Restore iPhone/iPad button in Finder and iTunes.
We are assuming that Crash Detection optimizations fixes an issue with iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro users where something like a rollercoaster would trigger the feature. But of course, this is yet to be tested, but I feel highly inclined that these fixes adds improvements to that area of the iPhone.
If you have trouble finding your friends and family members on Find My using Siri, then hopefully, that bug has been fixed in this update as well.
