Breguet Celebrates Creation of the Tourbillon With Tradition 7047 Tourbillon Waltz

Breguet is marking the creation of the very first tourbillon with a new addition to its Tradition collection.

The first tourbillon was created by Abraham-Louis Breguet in 1801, with the patent application being filed on June 26 of that year.

Powered By a Chain And Fusée Constant Force Movement.

The new Tradition 7047 Tourbillon Waltz features a fusée-chain tourbillon mechanism with a visual theme carrying blue across the movement with a mix of coatings and thermal treatments. The large tourbillon carriage and the dial are covered with blue coatings, while the chain links are thermally blued.

The watch's off-centre gold dial is decorated with Clous de Paris guilloché, engraved Roman numerals and uses Breguet hands.

Housed in a 41mm platinum case, the Tradition 7047 Tourbillon Waltz is powered by the 2.5Hz hand wound Calibre 569 with silicon balance spring and a 50-hour power reserve.

The Tradition 7047 Tourbillon Waltz is available now via Breguet, priced £164,800 GBP (approximately $202,000 USD).

Elsewhere in watches, Roger Dubuis celebrates Goodwood debut with Lamborghini-inspired timekeeper.
