Grand Seiko Drops Four Colorful Nature-Inspired US Exclusives

Grand Seiko has dropped four new US exclusives with colorful nature-inspired dials.

The vivid blue and emerald green dial of the SBGK015 Ryūsendō takes its color from the underground lakes of the same name, while SBGK017 takes its anthracite shade and ‘arare’ texture from traditional ironware from Morioka.

The Four Pieces Take Inspiration For Their Vibrant Dial Colors From Japanese Landmarks

Both iterations of the 39mm watch feature sapphire crystals and curved dials with small seconds at the nine o’clock position and power reserve indication at the three o’clock. Both pieces are powered by Grand Seiko’s manual wind Calibre 9S63, which offers a 72-hour power reserve and is accurate to +5/-3 seconds a day.

While the SBGK015 Ryūsendō is limited to 250 pieces, priced $7,500 USD, the SBGK017 joins Grand Seiko’s collection is the US, priced $8,900 USD.

Housed in modern reinterpretation of the brand's 44GS case design, the other two US exclusives use Grand Seiko’s Hi-Beat GMT automatic Calibre 9S86 with a 55-hour power reserve and independent 24-hour GMT indication.

The SBGJ261 Peacock offers a vibrant blue dial with hints of purple, while the SBGJ259 takes its lush green dial and vivid green GMT hand from a bamboo grove at Tokyo’s Nezu Museum and Garden. Both pieces are priced $6,800 USD. Each of the four US exclusives drop in September.
