Greubel Forsey Drops $500,000 USD Tourbillon 24 Secondes Architecture

The reinvention of Greubel Forsey - under new management with watch industry veteran Antonio Calce at the helm - continues with the Tourbillon 24 Secondes Architecture.

The $500,000 USD watch features a newly designed titanium and sapphire crystal “convex conical frustrum” case which showcases the watch’s new and unorthodox movement construction.

A sapphire crystal ring forms the watch's entire caseband allowing the brand to show off one of its movements from above, below and the side for the first time.

New Convex Case Design And Sapphire Crystal Caseband Showcase Architectural New Tourbillon Movement

The movement features polished titanium bridges rising up in contrast against a frosted mainplate, with a 24-second tourbillon sitting suspended and inclined at 25° at the six o’clock position. Three series-coupled mainspring barrels offer 90 hours of power reserve, with an indicator at the three o’clock.

The convex shape of the case also benefits the ergonomics on the wrist, being wider at the caseback than the bezel. Greubel Forsey has also created one of its most practical pieces of haute horlogerie yet, making the Tourbillon 24 Secondes Architecture water resistant to 50m and mounting it on a rubber strap.

The Tourbillon 24 Secondes Architecture will be limited to only 11 pieces this year, ramping up to 18 pieces a year between 2023 and 2025 for a total of 65 examples.

Elsewhere in watches, Glashütte Original reveals its first annual calendar.
