Hegid’s artistic director Jérôme Coste, called on the services of his friends, cousins Cédric - who honed his vision working with the electronic music duo - and Nicolas Hervet - an award-winning furniture maker - to design its “retro futuristic” new watch, Celeste, based around the theme of ‘Space-Time.”
The friendship between Coste and the Hervet cousins sees Hegid and Hervet Manufacturier share the same space on Paris’s Rue Volney.
The 40mm automatic is presented in both 316L stainless steel and ethically sourced white and yellow gold.
The faceted geometry of the case frames space-like a “radar dial” with hour, minutes and second hands. The gold editions also feature diamond-set hour markers.
The Celeste is available to pre-order now via Hegid, with 99 pieces available in steel and 12 each in yellow and white gold priced €3,600 and €23,000 ($3,600 USD and $23,000 USD) respectively. Unlike Hegid’s other customisable watches the component case, movement container and strap are not available to buy separately.
Elsewhere in watches, Benrus reissues Type II military diver.
