As we standby for the 77th NBA regular season to tip off in mid-October, Kyrie Irving has been spotted at Fairfax High School in Los Angeles stepping out in the upcoming Nike Kyrie 9. The scrimmage gathered together the Brooklyn Nets point guard with Atlanta Hawks' Trae Young, Orlando Magic's Cole Anthony and Toronto Raptors' Scottie Barnes to name a few.
Thanks to Moving Pictures, we get a glimpse at the latest installment in action. The design elects a mid-top structure with what appears to be translucent mesh uppers in a predominantly white outfit and red accents from the Swoosh to the eyestays. A Zoom Air unit cushions the forefoot while a handwritten signature sits on the midsole. Words by Irving's mother Elizabeth Ann are written in the interiors and are accompanied by embroidery of the roman numerals VIII XIII on the heel in honor of her birthday, August 13.
While the silhouette is currently dubbed as the ninth edition in Irving's signature lineup, he replied to Slam Kicks' Instagram post indicating that the release may be the eighth instead as the unreleased design was shelved despite wearing them for the previous season thereafter. Irving continued his reports on the shoe as he tweet the release date slated for November 11, 2022. Nike has yet to confirm these details.
For more drops to look out for, the sacai x Nike Cortez 4.0 "OG" received an official release date.
