Famed artist and professional skater Mark Gonzales, also known as "The Gonz", has been a part of the Three Stripes team for over two decades now. With adidas, Gonzales has reworked silhouettes in the Originals and Skateboarding categories, working on classics such as the Superstar. Now, with the "UltraBOOST by Mark Gonzales", he has stepped into the world of performance footwear.
After surfacing earlier this year, we now get a closer look at Gonzales' approach to the UltraBOOST DNA. A staple in adidas' footwear offerings, the model is known for pulling elements from previous UltraBOOST iterations such as this pair's translucent cage coming from the UltraBOOST 3.0. As with the rest of his adidas collaborations, Gonzales includes his signature Shmoo character throughout the sneaker. Utilizing various tones of blue, gray and black, the Primeknit upper carries unique geometry that is sure to stand out. To complement the blend of colors, a black midsole is combined with a brown Continental outsole. Lacing alternatives in neon shades of green and orange are offered alongside the default gray.
The release is set for June 11 via adidas and specialty skate shops at a retail price of $180 USD.
In case you missed it, the coveted adidas UltraBOOST 1.0 "Cream" is being reissued again.
