This Nike Air Max 97 Pays Homage to an Icon

The Nike Air Max 97 “M. Frank Rudy” is officially unveiled and this exclusive variation pays homage to Marion Franklin Rudy, the engineer who created Nike’s iconic Air technology, which debuted on the Nike Air Tailwind back in 1978, and in 1980, he patented the tech to further cement the Swoosh as a giant in the footwear business. Overall, this rendition of the runner dons a clean white mesh upper with tonal leather overlays and suede mudguards. Additionally, the pristine profile is punctuated with blueprint insoles which depict the tech artwork and Rudy’s signature, followed by California “Nike Air” license plate hangtags, EST. 1997 printed on the Air unit, and Rudy’s name adoring the laces tips. Finally, a white midsole and yellow semi-translucent outsole rounds out the profile.
