Atomic Heart is finally launching early next week, on Tuesday, February 21st. Developer Mundfish celebrated the upcoming release with a live action trailer titled 'The Atomic Way' that features Supernatural actor Jensen Ackles.
In other news, Atomic Heart composer Mick Gordon (Doom, Wolfenstein, Prey) revealed that he would donate all proceeds from Mundfish to the Australian Red Cross's appeal for solidarity for Ukraine.
On February 24, 2022, I, like the rest of the world, was horrified as Putin's armies escalated the war in Ukraine with a brutal and unjustifiable invasion, causing immense suffering for the Ukrainian people. The tragedy of this conflict cannot be overstated, with countless innocent lives already lost and the country deeply impacted by violence and instability. This invasion was not a decision of the Russian people but rather an authoritarian regime that disregards human rights and dignity. The world must continue to demand an end to this aggression and stand in solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
Two years earlier, in April 2020, Mundfish Studio approached me to contribute to the musical vision of Atomic Heart. The game's unique aesthetic, combined with my musician's love for Soviet-era synthesisers, provided an exciting creative opportunity. I was thrilled to be involved and am grateful that the team saw fit to bring me onboard. Working with Mundfish is an absolute delight, as they prioritise imagination and artistic freedom, which is evident in the game's stunning art direction and detailed world-building. I'm eager to see and hear my musical contributions come to life in the final game when Atomic Heart releases later this month.
I am proud to donate my fee from the game to the Australian Red Cross' Ukraine Crisis Appeal in support of the people of Ukraine who are heroically defending their country against aggression. I believe it is important to support pro-peace organisations, stand up for what is right and to help those in need, especially during times of crisis. This donation is a way for me to provide practical support to those whose lives have been impacted by the war.
